Frequently Asked Questions

What is Jungian psychotherapy?
Jungian psychotherapy is a depth-oriented approach that understands emotional symptoms as meaningful signals from the psyche rather than problems to be eliminated.
Who is this work for?
This work is well suited for individuals navigating life transitions, emotional or relational difficulties, or a desire for deeper meaning and self-understanding.
What can I expect from therapy sessions?
Sessions offer a calm, reflective space where your story unfolds at its own pace, with careful attention to thoughts, emotions, dreams, and life experiences. I do not typically offer homework – the homework is how you carry the work we do into your life.
Is this a short-term or quick-fix approach?
No. This is a steady, respectful process focused on lasting change rather than quick solutions.
How often do sessions usually occur?
Individual therapy is most often supported through weekly or biweekly sessions to allow the work to integrate into daily life.
How much does psychotherapy cost?
It depends. If you have health insurance, I may be able to file that for you if I am an in-network provider. (See Services and Fees). If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill so you can file a claim directly with your insurance company. You may also pay the private pay fee (See "Services and Fees"). I accept Credit Cards, HAS cards, Venmo, Zelle, or cash.
What makes your couples therapy different?
Couples therapy explores the deeper emotional and unconscious patterns shaping the relationship, rather than focusing only on surface-level communication strategies.
What is spiritual direction, and is it religious?
Spiritual direction is a reflective practice focused on one's relationship with the transcendent and is not tied to any specific religious tradition or belief system.
What happens in spiritual direction sessions?
Sessions involve contemplative conversation and practices such as mindfulness, dream reflection, deep listening, creative expression, and attentive noticing of everyday experience.
How do you work with dreams?
Dreams are explored as symbolic or imaginative expressions of the psyche, without reducing them to fixed interpretations. I steer away from dream dictionaries. Instead, we will explore personal associations to the dream images, sometimes referencing myths, fairy tales, and ancient stories that can shed light on what the dream is trying to tell you. Keeping a dream journal is a definite plus.
Can dreamwork be part of therapy or spiritual direction?
Yes. Dreamwork can be an ongoing and enriching aspect of psychotherapy or spiritual direction, supporting deeper engagement with the inner life.
How do I begin?
Beginning the work starts with a brief phone conversation to explore whether this approach feels like a good fit for you.
